When You Have Identified Unwanted Pests, Pest Pros Can Help
Rodents, insects, spiders and other pests cause problems in homes and businesses. Our pest control and extermination services provide solutions to keep your spaces free of pests that are effective, as well as green and safe for you and the animals around you.
A thorough inspection will always be the first step in any pest control program. During the inspection we will confirm the type of pest that is present, and our technician will look for harborage points (places that the pests will hide) to determine if they can be eliminated, or at least reduced. Depending on the issue at hand, the next steps may vary after this point.
Exclusion, or limiting the access that a pest has to an area, is an important step that our technicians handle. The materials used depends upon the type of pest— we may use metal mesh to keep out rodents, or caulking to provide a barrier against insects. The idea behind this is that if we can reduce the area that pests have access to, or eliminate their access to every area altogether, there will be less area to monitor regularly and our technicians can reduce the quantity of materials to apply upon their next visit.
What to Expect
The pest control and extermination services used by our technicians start with the least invasive treatments first, then continue to be more aggressive in the form of treatment if the situation calls for it. For example, if there are ants in your kitchen our technician will look to see what kind of food sources they are seeking, and will make recommendations for you to clean up or eliminate those sources. If appropriate, our technician will apply some ant bait in inconspicuous locations. Monitors (sticky traps) are also a very useful tool. They allow the capture of pests, which not only helps to reduce the population but will tell our technicians whether a different pest population has moved in. If our technicians needed to use liquid materials, we may need to schedule a vacate time for you, or additional prep work that baiting wouldn’t require.
We can trap and monitor rodents, both inside and outside of your home or business, and we can provide you with options for these services. A humane rodent trap is one of the options we can use that uses no toxic material, which greatly reduces risk to pets and other non target animals. Whether using traps, or pesticide materials, we make our choices to minimize the risk to all that live in your home. All pest control materials used are state registered and are EPA approved.
