Wasp Exterminator Services
Wasp Infestation Services
The Pacific Northwest is home to a variety of stinging insects including wasps. If you live in Washington State, you may already know that it is almost impossible to avoid seeing this pest in the spring and summer.
When you find a wasp nest near your home or business, knocking it down is not enough. Wasps are habitual and can be hard to nudge out of their nesting space. If they build a nest in a specific location and it is knocked down, they will quickly return to the same place and begin creating a new nest.
At Pest Pros, we ensure that the nest and the wasps are completely removed from your property to minimize the chance of wasps returning.
Our professional team at Pest Pros can offer wasp exterminator services at your home or business and implement prevention methods to keep wasps away from your space for good.
Have you ever gone out into your yard, and wondered “When did that nest get there?” Wasp colonies are started with a single queen at the beginning of the season in early spring. She lays the first brood of eggs and does all of the caregiving, hunting, and “chores” of the nest until they are adults. After that, her job is to lay eggs, and the workers do all of the rest of the “chores”. This is why most nests go unnoticed until later in the season when the size of the nests increases, as well as the number of wasps in the nest. By the end of summer, these nests can contain up to several thousand wasps.
When wasps feel threatened, they will become aggressive and attack. Wasps can sting multiple times before dying. A large amount of wasps swarming a property can be a risk to humans and pets – especially if they have allergies to stinging insects.
While paper wasps are often confused with yellow jackets, they’re slightly longer at about 5/8 of an inch. Paper wasps also differentiate themselves with their more slender bodies and long legs. An easy way to tell if you have a paper wasp infestation is by looking at the nest, which would be an open comb, showcasing hexagonal cells.
Although slightly smaller than paper wasps, Yellowjackets are known to be more aggressive than paper wasps. Ranging from 3/8 to ¾ of an inch long, YellowJackets are black with yellow markings on their body and have wings that fold alongside their body while resting. While they prefer to build their nests on the ground, they may also build them in other places, such as an attic or a shed. They have oval-shaped nests, with one opening at the bottom.
